Hockey Manitoba is pleased to release the U-16 Team Manitoba exhibition roster who will be competing against U-16 Shattuck-St. Mary’s in a 3 game set October 2-4, 2015. The exhibition series with Shattuck-St.Mary’s will serve as the final evaluation of twenty-five (25) players before naming the official U-16 Team Manitoba roster of twenty (20).

The roster includes twenty-five (25) names with three (3) goaltenders, eight (8) defensemen , and fourteen (14) forwards. The exhibition roster includes twenty-two (22) players drafted in the 2015 WHL Bantam Draft including first round picks Calen Addison (2nd, Lethbridge Hurricanes), Jett Woo (4th, Moose Jaw Warriors), Kolby Morrisseau (9th, Spokane Chiefs), Riley Stotts (10th, Swift Current Broncos), Dawson Barteaux (14th, Regina Pats) and Caiden Daley (22nd, Brandon Wheat Kings).

• Fri, Oct 2 vs Shattuck-St. Mary’s – 7:45 PM MTS Iceplex – ACU
• Sat, Oct 3 vs Shattuck-St. Mary’s – 4:00 PM Peguis Multiplex
• Sun, Oct 4 vs Shattuck-St. Mary’s – 9:45 AM MTS Iceplex – WFP

The legendary hockey program at Shattuck-St.Mary’s boasts a rich tradition of alumni that includes the likes of Sidney Crosby, Zach Parise, Nathan MacKinnon, along with Manitobans Andy Murray (Coach) and Jonathan Toews. Last season Hockey Manitoba sent its U-16 exhibition roster down to the U-16 Shattuck-St.Mary’s Showcase where the Team Manitoba finished with a 3-1-1 record including a 1-1 tie with Shattuck-St.Mary’s.

The final U-16 Team Manitoba roster consisting of twenty (20) players will be announced with a press conference on Monday, October 5, 2015 in conjunction with the Western Hockey League. U-16 Team Manitoba will compete at the 2015 Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup held October 27 – November 1,2015 in Calgary, AB. The Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup is a four team round-robin tournament and skills combine with Alberta, BC, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan serving as a major showcase for top WHL prospects and the Hockey Canada U-17 Program of Excellence.
