U-16 Team Manitoba loses gold to Alberta again
MOOSE JAW – It was the same result as 2009, but this time with less drama as Team Alberta finished with a decisive 10-4 final victory over Team Manitoba to win their second consecutive Western Canada U-16 Challenge Cup. Consequently Team Manitoba goes home with another silver medal as in 2009.
Head coach David Anning comments on Team Manitoba’s tournament; “this was an excellent group to work with both on and off the ice right from the start of the selection process through to today. Obviously we’re disappointed with the final result but the players represented the province very well and have no reason to hang their heads.”
Jayce Hawryluk (Roblin) and Adam Brooks (Winnipeg) were named to the tournament all-star team.
