U-18 TEAM MANITOBA READY FOR CANADA WINTER GAMES

Players from U-18 Team Manitoba will report later today as the team gathers for final preparations and travel to the 2015 Canada Winter Games in Prince George, BC. U-18 Team Manitoba will depart Thursday from Winnipeg and will practice Friday in Prince George. The Women’s hockey competition will span from February 14 – February 20, featuring a 3 pool tournament with 12 provincial teams from across the country.

The U-18 roster includes 11 returning players from the 2013 National Women’s U-18 Championship where Team Manitoba finished in 5th place. The roster also includes four players (Campbell, Higham, Houston, Hunt ) who attended the 2015 IIHF U-18 Women’s World Championship with Team Canada last month in Buffalo, NY. Randi Marcon (Winnipeg) of the St. Mary’s Academy Flames has been named captain of the team along with Bracken, Oswald, and Hunt named as alternate captains. U-18 Team Manitoba is lead on the bench by Ashley van Aggelen (Winnipeg) as head coach with assistant coaches Ryan Hutton (Morden) and Reid Sloan (Morden).
