Winnipeg Monarchs off to Western Bantams in Weyburn

The Western Canadian Bantam Championships are set to begin in Weyburn, SK this weekend. The championship takes place from April 2-5th and will feature 5 Bantam AAA teams from Western Canada.

Each Branch champion advances to the Westerns, along with the host team. Competing this weekend are the Abbotsford Hawks (BC), Airdrie Xtreme (AB), Warman Wildcats (SK), Winnipeg Monarchs (SK) along with the host Weyburn Wings.

The Winnipeg Monarchs first game is Thursday when they take on the Airdire Xtreme at 4:00 (Weyburn local time). The round-robin ends Saturday evening with the top two seeded teams advancing to the Gold Medal final on Sunday. The 3rd and 4th seeds will compete for the Bronze Medal on Sunday as well.
