WINTERHAWKS’ GLASS NAMED WHL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Calgary, AB – The Western Hockey League announced today that Portland Winterhawks forward Cody Glass has been named the WHL Player of the Week for the week ending October 9, 2016.

Glass registered eight points (3G-5A) in four games to help the Portland Winterhawks go 2-2-0-0 this past week.

On Tuesday, October 4 against the Swift Current Broncos, Glass secured two assists in a 7-3 loss. The 17-year-old product of Winnipeg, MB, helped the Winterhawks bounce back on Wednesday, October 5, registering two goals and an assist for first-star honours in a 5-3 victory at Prince Albert. Glass continued to roll on Friday, October 7, producing a goal and two assists in a second-star performance during a 5-2 win at Moose Jaw.

Glass currently leads the WHL in both assists (11) and points (15) through eight games this season.

The 6-foot-2, 179-pound centre is eligible for the 2017 NHL Entry Draft and was recently named to NHL Central Scouting’s ‘Players to Watch’ list. Glass is in his second WHL season with the Winterhawks, having collected 42 points (14G-28A) in 76 career WHL regular season contests.
