The 2014 Director’s Cup Prospects program will begin with regional selections, with the exception of Winnipeg, during “Development Weekend” which is held in early February; contact your home region for tryout information such as dates, times, and fees (18 skaters, 2 goalies). The actual program curriculum will begin March 17th and will conclude April 23rd, culminating with the Director’s Cup Prospects Tournament held April 25-27, 2014 in Warren, MB.

“IT’S A PLAYER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM”

DEVELOPMENT CURRICULUM
Each region will have a desingated DC Prospects coaching staff to deliver the 5-week development curriculum. Players will participate in both on-ice and off-ice sessions that are designed to cover key skills and concepts needed at the Major Bantam level leading into the U-16 Program of Excellence and junior draft year (MJHL, WHL) while building a strong foundation for Midget, Junior, and beyond.
EXHIBITION TOURNAMENTS
At the end of Week 2 there will be two exhibition tournaments hosted (East, West) where players will participate alongside their regional peers as a team. Each team will play 3 games during this period, local DC Prospects coaching staff will coach their home region. East site will be Steinbach, West site will be Killarney.
PROSPECTS TOURNAMENT
Players will participate on mixed-regional* rosters for the Director’s Cup Prospects Tournament providing an identical experience to the U-16 POE Spring Tournament and a key character building opportunity. Players and coaches will be assigned to 12 teams to compete in 4 games over the tournament weekend. The 2014 tournament will be held April 25-27 in Warren, MB.

PROGRAM REGISTRATION
Once identified by the home region all players will be provided a web link for the central registration portal hosted by Hockey Manitoba. The portal will include online registration form, online payment (credit card only), and option to purchase program apparel. Standardized program fees will include program items such as: ice time, off-ice sessions, facilities, practice jerseys, game jerseys, socks, honorariums for team staff, player/coach apparel, coach development resources, player development resources.
