Game Notes: Manitoba greatly outplayed BC from the outset, final shots 54 for MB and 21 for BC. Manitoba was able to use their speed on the forecheck to cause turnovers, however Team BC defence did a good job of collapsing to take away quality scoring opportunities and keep the score close.

Game Notes: Quebec was able to capitalize on Manitoba turnovers and penalties to win 6-3. This was a hard fought game until late into the 3rd period with the score being 3-3 with approximately 10 minutes to play in regulation.

Game Notes: Manitoba put out their best offensive performance scoring 4 goals. The team speed of Manitoba prevailed in this matchup against the Alberta defense who could not match the tempo of the Manitoba forwards. Leiette Klassen got the start in net for Manitoba, and put out a solid performance with 22 saves.

Game Notes: Manitoba jumped out to an early lead by scoring on the game’s first shift, however Ontario-Red was able to finish the period with a 2-1 lead. Going into the third, Ontario-Red added two more tallies to take a commanding 4-1 lead. Team Manitoba scored just over 6 minutes into the 3rd, but could not muster any more offense.

Game Notes: Manitoba wins Bronze Medal Game. Team Manitoba dominated much of this game which could of been out of hand if it weren’t for goaltender Janesica Drinkwater of Ontario-Blue. Instead, Drinkwater held Ontario-Blue in the mix making it a hard fought win for Manitoba who had to earn all three goals leading them to the Bronze.

Lacquette named Top Defence at U-18’s
Brigette Lacquette #19
Born: Nov 10, 1992
Lacquette played to her potential at the 2008 U-18’s which allowed her to be recognized for her individual performance. Brigette showcased all of her assets throughout the week, namely her great skating and ability to lead the rush out of her own end matched with precision passing. Lacquette finished the tournament with 2 goals, both on the powerplay, which were a result of her great one-timing ability and shot strength. Congratulations to Brigette from Hockey Manitoba!
