Boys U15

The Boys Under-15 Program of Excellence (formerly known as the Director’s Cup Prospects program) is a standardized skills development program for U15 players that will focus on key concepts and skills applicable to the “Train to Train” athlete development stage.

The Boys U15 High Performance program is designed to provide high performance players with the opportunity to develop advanced skills as well as an introduction to the concepts needed to play at an elite level. Players from this program will be more prepared for our boys U16 Team Manitoba program by playing with the best players and learning the concepts and tactics required to compete at the top level.

The first phase is the End of Season Evaluation tournament which is scheduled to take place from April 24 – 26 at Scotiabank hockey for all centre. The tournament will be comprised of 8 teams of 17 (2 G, 6 D, 9 f). Hockey Manitoba scouting and coaching staffs will evaluate all players for invitation to the second phase – the Elite 40 Camp (tentatively scheduled for early June).

The Elite 40 Camp will be mirrored after the Hockey Canada programming comprising of practices, player interviews, team building and off ice presentations as well as games.

The final phase of the Hockey Manitoba’s Boys U15 Program of Excellence will conclude with a three-game exhibition series between Team Manitoba Black and Team Manitoba Gold. The two teams will be comprised of the Elite 40 Camp athletes in the program, selected by the Hockey Manitoba Coaching/Scouting Staff (tentatively scheduled for late August).

The prospects program focuses on off-ice skills and off-ice training by emphasizing quality instruction and age-appropriate instruction.
