A Christmas Message for Hockey Manitoba Members

by Hockey Manitoba  |  December 18, 2025 10:30 am

As the Christmas season is upon us, I want to take a moment to extend my warmest wishes to every player, parent, volunteer, coach, official, and administrator across our great hockey community.

This past year has been one of reflection, challenge, and meaningful change. Hockey Manitoba has been navigating important transitions, focused on strengthening governance, modernizing how we operate, and ensuring our organization is built on transparency, accountability, and trust. Change is never easy, but it is necessary when we are committed to serving our members better and positioning the game for long-term success.

At the heart of everything we do are people. The Hockey Manitoba staff and volunteers who give countless hours behind the scenes. The coaches and officials who mentor and guide our athletes. The parents and families who sacrifice time and resources so their children can experience the game we all love. And, of course, the players, who remind us daily why this work matters.

Hockey teaches us lessons far beyond the rink: teamwork, resilience, respect, and community. Those values are never more evident than during the holiday season, when we pause to reflect on what truly matters…  family, friendship, gratitude, and coming together.

As we look ahead to the New Year, I am optimistic and energized by the path in front of us. Together, we will continue to communicate – listen, collaborate, and build a stronger, more inclusive hockey system that serves all corners of our province.

On behalf of the Hockey Manitoba Board of Directors and staff, I wish you and your families a very Merry Christmas, a joyful holiday season, and a safe and prosperous New Year. Thank you for your continued support, your passion for the game, and your belief in the future of hockey in Manitoba.

Warmest regards,

Boyd Canart
Hockey Manitoba President
