Jody Scott – December 2008 Volunteer of the Month
Jody has been involved in Morden minor hockey for several years. As a child, he played his minor hockey in Morden and decided to give back to the game as an adult. He has contributed time as a volunteer, coach and an Executive member. His extensive involvement in the game includes:

Coach in Morden minor hockey for 8 years

Morden minor hockey Executive Committee member for 3 years

Currently President of Morden Minor Hockey

Assisted in and run numerous player evaluation camps

Assisted in and run numerous player conditioning camps

Involved in other small hockey programs at the local level
As indicated above, Jody is the current Morden minor hockey President and also coaches the Pee Wee gold team. He feels that Morden minor hockey strongly promotes development amongst players and coaches. He indicates:
“The primary purpose of the Morden Minor Hockey Association is to promote interest in a wholesome brand of hockey while fostering a healthy community spirit with all members, supporters and teams involved in the MMHA. The long term goal of the Morden Minor Hockey Association is to promote and improve the sport of organized hockey in the Town of Morden.”
Jody thanksthe association and its coaches, managers,parents andespecially other Executive members for all of their hard work and dedication to the game in Morden. Hewould like to thank his wife Alana for her support and understanding of all the extra time he spends away from home to make their organization better for all players and coaches. Lastly, he would like to give special thanks to his son Phoenix and daughter Sage who love the game and keep both Alana and Jody very busy visiting all the different rinks across Manitoba.
