HOCKEY MANITOBA OFFICIALS TRAVEL TO NATIONAL EVENTS

Six Manitoba officials have been selected by Hockey Canada to represent Hockey Manitoba at National events in November, 2007.

Officials Garth Loeppky and Shaun Dalgleish have been selected by Hockey Canada to work the World Junior A Challenge in Trail and Nelson, British Columbia. Garth a Level VI Hockey Canada official has worked in the Manitoba Junior Hockey League for over a decade. He represented Hockey Manitoba and the MJHL as an official at the 2007 Royal Bank Cup (now RBC Cup) in Prince George, B.C. His officiating resume also includes working the AHL, WHL and CIS.

Level IV Official, Dalgleish is in his second season as an MJHL official. Sean represented Hockey Manitoba at the Hockey Canada Officiating Program of Excellence in 2006 at Prince Albert, Sask. The 2007 WJAC will run from Nov. 5-11 in British Columbia.

At the same time officials Katie Gullett and Ashley Desjardins are traveling to Kitchener Ont. to officiate at the 2007 National Women’s U-18 Championship – November 7-11, 2007.

Both Katie and Ashley attended the Hockey Canada Western Female Officiating Camp this past July in Red Deer, Alberta. Katie (Level IV) officiated at the Esso Women’s in Prince George in March, 2007 while Ashley (Level III) represented Manitoba at the 2007 Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, NWT.

During the same week Ryan Galley and Graham Heather will be attending the Hockey Canada Level VI Seminar being held in Cambridge, Ontario. They will be joined by twenty officials from across Canada as well as IIHF officials from Europe for the six day event.
