FIVE MANITOBANS IDENTIFIED BY NHL CENTRAL SCOUTING

Five Manitoban players have been identified in NHL Central Scouting’s latest ‘Players to Watch’ list for the 2014 NHL Draft.  Jayce Hawryluk, recent recipient of the WHL and CHL Player of the Week honours, leads the way for local skaters with a B rating.  Also claiming a B rating is goaltender Austin Lotz who was surprisingly overlooked in the 2013 NHL Draft.  Ty Edmonds who has established himself as the lead net minder in Prince George was listed with C rating.  Alex Moodie who was undrafted in 2013 is now enjoying the starting role in Saskatoon with the departure of Andrey Makarov was also listed with a C rating.  Bemidgi State freshman, Brendan Harms, also went undrafted in 2013 joins the list with a C rating.

Two local players were selected in the 2013 NHL Draft this past June; Ryan Pulock (Grandview, MB) selected 15th overall by the New York Islanders and Madison Bowey (Winnipeg, MB) selected 53rd overall by the Washington Capitals.  The 2014 NHL Draft will take place June 27-28, 2014 in Philadelphia, PA.
