LACQUETTE & KOHANCHUK RELEASED FROM NATIONAL TEAM
CALGARY, Alta. – Melody Davidson, Hockey Canada’s general manager of National Women’s Team programs, and Dan Church, head coach of Canada’s National Women’s Team, announced Tuesday that three players have been released from Canada’s National Women’s Team’s centralization roster.
Defencemen Tessa Bonhomme (Sudbury, Ont./Toronto, CWHL) and Brigette Lacquette (Waterhen, Man./University of Minnesota Duluth, WCHA), as well as forward Jenelle Kohanchuk (Winnipeg, Man./Boston University, HE) have been released.
Twenty-four players remain in centralization, including three goaltenders, seven defencemen and 14 forwards.
Canada’s National Women’s Team has a schedule of Midget Series and international games over the coming months, leading up to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games. Canada’s final roster for the 2014 Olympic Winter Games will include 21 players, including three goaltenders.
