Hockey Manitoba unveils Power Play News publication

WINNIPEG, MB- Hockey Manitoba is excited to unveil a new publication, Power Play News, which will serve as a yearly informational magazine for the organization. The publication hosts a variety of general information pieces about the Hockey Manitoba organization including events, programs, registration numbers, demographics, personnel directory, and more. Power Play News also recognizes the special achievements of teams, players, coaches, officials, and volunteers from the previous season. Power Play News will serve as a brand extension of Hockey Manitoba's online e-newsletter, Power Play e-News, which is sent via email throughout the season to Hockey Manitoba membership and subscribers.

Peter Woods, Hockey Manitoba Executive Director comments; "we're pleased to offer this publication to our membership and hockey lovers in the province, we feel by using this media tool it only benefits our great sport and further expands the Hockey Manitoba brand."

The cover of 2012-13 Power Play News features the tremendous achievement by Brendan Shinnimin who was named Canadian Hockey League (CHL) Player of the Year this past May. The magazine also includes a two-page spread by Avi Saper of Canstar News detailing the remarkable development journey Shinnimin took on his route to earning one of hockey's most prestige awards. The cover also recognizes the province's two National Champions from last season being the Pembina Valley Hawks (Esso Cup) and South East Prairie Thunder (Allan Cup), rounding out a truly special season for Hockey Manitoba.

Power Play News can be found online in digital copy (Adobe PDF format) by visiting www.hockeymanitoba.ca/powerplay.php. The digital copy is viewable on computer desktop as well as smart phones and tablets. Two-thousand hard copies of the magazine will be printed and distributed for free through various methods including Hockey Manitoba events, regional hockey associations, and public venues. Copies will also be available to public at the Hockey Manitoba office after December 15th, while supplies last.
