Nine Manitobans named to WHL roster for Super Series versus Team Russia

The Home Hardware CHL Top Prospects Game is still two months away but Canadian Hockey League fans can get a sneak peek at some of the top-rated prospects for the 2010 NHL Entry Draft during the next two weeks in the SUBWAY Super Series.

NHL Central Scouting released their initial list of prospects for the upcoming draft and many of the top players are competing in the annual Canada-Russia showcase event.

Nine Manitoban players have been named to the WHL rosters that will suit up on Wednesday, November 25th in Victoria, BC and on Thursday, November 26th in Kelowna, BC.

Scott Glennie (F, Brandon Wheat Kings) – Game 1

Byron Froese (F, Everett Silvertips) – Game 1

Cody Eakin (F, Swift Current Broncos) – Game 1

Quinton Howden (F, Moose Jaw Warriors) – Game 2

Colby Robak (D, Brandon Wheat Kings) – Game 1

Travis Hamonic (D, Moose Jaw Warriors) – Game 2

Michael Stone (D, Calgary Hitmen) – Game 2

Calvin Pickard (G, Seattle Thunderbirds) – Game 1 & 2

In related news, Brandon Wheat Kings star Brayden Schenn has also been named to the WHL Game 1 roster and Carter Ashton, son of former Winnipeg Jet player Brent Ashton, has been named the Game 2 roster.
