The Western Hockey League announced today that Brandon Wheat Kings’ defenceman Ryan Pulock is the Denny’s WHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 17, 2013.

Pulock recorded two goals and five assists for seven points along with a +3 rating in three games over the past week, helping the Wheat Kings post three consecutive victories in that span.

On Monday, November 11th, Pulock picked up three assists and was named the game’s 2nd Star in a 5-3 victory over the visiting Lethbridge Hurricanes.  On Wednesday, November 13th, Pulock tallied a power play goal as the Wheat Kings posted a 5-2 road victory over the Saskatoon Blades.  On Friday, November 15th, Pulock scored his second goal in as many games and added two assists while being named the game’s 1st Star in a 6-2 win over the visiting Saskatoon Blades.

Pulock, a product of Grandview, MB, is in his fourth WHL campaign with the Brandon Wheat Kings, and currently ranks 11th among all WHL defencemen in scoring with eight goals and 21 points in 18 games this season.  Chosen by the New York Islanders in the first round, 15th overall, in the 2013 NHL draft, Pulock has put up 49 goals and 168 points in 213 career regular-season contests for the Wheat Kings.  He was Brandon’s seventh-round pick, 136th overall, in the 2009 WHL Bantam Draft.
