Hockey Manitoba is pleased to announce the names of the forty (40) male players who have been selected to attend the Male Program of Excellence Summer Camp to be held in Brandon June 23-25, 2006.

All players attending the Summer Camp were selected from the one hundred and thirty (130) players from across Manitoba who attended the Program of Excellence Spring Tournament held April 28-30, 2006 at the Max Bell Centre in Winnipeg. The group of 1990 born players is one of the deepest in talent our province has seen in recent history.

Twenty of the players from the Summer Camp will eventually form the Team Manitoba Male Under-17 team that will compete at the Canada Winter Games in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory scheduled for February 23 – March 2, 2007. For more information on the Games please visit 2007 Canada Games

The 2003 Team Manitoba Canada Games team featured many current prominent players in the Canadian Junior ranks, most notably Cam Barker and Dustin Boyd, members of the 2006 World Junior Champion Team Canada. For the Canada Winter Games, ten provinces and two territories will be represented and Team Manitoba is looking to compete for a medal this time around.

Team Manitoba will be coached by Don MacGillivary, joined by assistant coaches Paul Krueger and Billy Keane.
