GRANGER TO ATTEND OFFICIATING POE
WINNIPEG, MB – One (1) Hockey Manitoba official has been selected by Hockey Canada to attend the Officiating Program of Excellence (OPOE) camp in Calgary, AB from July 25 – 27, 2017.
The OPOE is designed as an officiating talent identification and training program for elite officiating prospects, extending beyond Branch officiating development. The OPOE is a partnership, which includes Hockey Canada and its Member Branches, the National Hockey League and the Canadian Hockey League. All partners bring together resources in order to foster a rewarding development opportunity for officials identified and trained in the OPOE.
Matthew Granger (Linesman), Winnipeg – Matthew is a Level IV official who has experience lining in USPORTS, MJHL, MMJHL, KJHL & Midget AAA. Matthew is currently involved in the Hockey Manitoba Officiating Program as a supervisor mentor for up and coming young officials. Some highlights of Matthew’s officiating career so far include lining at the Keystone Cup, Telus Cup Regionals, Female World Sport School Challenge Cup, and many league playoffs and provincials.
