Hockey Manitoba is excited to launch the registration for the Female U16 Program of Excellence (POE) for 2024, which will begin with the Female U16 Evaluation Tournament being hosted at the Scotiabank hockey for all centre (formerly Bell MTS Iceplex) the weekend of April 5 – 7, 2024.

The Female U16 POE Evaluation Tournament is open to female athletes born between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010. Athletes who register will be placed onto teams and will participate in inter-squad exhibition games that will be evaluated by the Female U16 POE coaching staff.

The cost to register for the Female U16 POE Evaluation Tournament is estimated to be $165+GST and fees per athlete. This cost will be finalized once registration has ended on February 14^th and the payment link will be sent out to all registered athletes at that time. The link to register is listed below.

Following the conclusion of the Female U16 POE Evaluation Tournament, approximately 68 athletes will be selected to move on to the Female U16 POE Development Camp, June 7 – 9, 2024 in Winnipeg and then on to the Female U16 POE Competition Weekend which will be hosted August 23 – 25, 2024 in Winnipeg.

The Female Program of Excellence is designed to provide high performance female players with the opportunity to develop advanced skills as well as an introduction to the concepts needed to play at an elite level. Players from the Program of Excellence go on to play at the U Sport, NCAA and International level.
