December 2011 Volunteer of the Month – Rob Suderman (PV)
Rob, from Winkler, runs an insurance company in the community and lives with his wife Hedy along with their three boys Mike, Nathan and Ryan. After years of playing hockey Rob saw it only fitting to give back to his community by volunteering in coaching and working on the local association executive.
Rob began coaching in 1984-1985 and again when his boys started playing the game in 1996-2005. While he was coaching he also was on the Winkler Minor Hockey executive from 1996-2006, serving as President for the last five years of his time on the executive.
When Ryan and Nathan made the regional Pembina Valley AAA Midget Hawks, Rob became the manager for all three years (2007-2009). He then decided to take a brief break after his boys completed their minor hockey careers, but soon realized he had some time on his hands and wanted to get back into the hockey world. This year he accepted a position on Pembina Valley Minor Hockey’s executive.
The Pembina Valley Minor Hockey Association would like to thank Rob for all of his years of volunteering in hockey and look forward to many more years working with him on their executive.
Hockey Manitoba congratulates Rob Suderman as the December 2011 Volunteer of the Month.
The Volunteer of the Month award is presented by Awards & More, official partner of Hockey Manitoba.
