WINNIPEG – Sport Manitoba’s Board of Directors is comprised of 16 directors, one of which is a Regional Representative.  This position has been vacant for the past years.  Recognizing the importance of this position, the Board had approved a process to fill this position.

Nominees were solicited through our Regional staff and all resumes were reviewed by the Nomination Sub-Committee of the Board.  A recommendation was then presented to the Board at the June 21^st meeting.

We are pleased to announce that Mr. John Ferg (South Region) has been appointed as the Regional Representative on Sport Manitoba’s Board of Directors.  Mr. Ferg is from Portage La Prairie and brings a keen understanding of regional sport development, Manitoba Games involvement, coaching and volunteer Board experience.

Mr. Ferg will officially join the Board as of September 1, 2017 for a three-year term ending in 2020.  We look forward to Mr. Ferg’s expertise on Sport Manitoba’s Board of Directors.
