Hockey Manitoba thanks Bert Dow for his 15 years of service on the Hockey Manitoba Board

Hockey Manitoba would like to announce to our members that effective January 15, 2025, Bert Dow has resigned from the Hockey Manitoba Board of Directors.
Bert served the Hockey Manitoba Board with distinction and passion for 15 years in five different capacities including President, Vice President, Chair, Girls’/Women’s Hockey, Chair, Minor-Rural and most recently, he held the position as the Past President of our organization.
Before joining the Hockey Manitoba Board of Directors, Bert volunteered in leading Pembina Valley for several years with his final three years as the Regional Director of Minor Hockey. Prior to stepping in as the Director of the Pembina Valley region, Bert held various positions within his home region including serving as a coach, team manager, and female category Chair on the Pembina Valley Board.
Bert has served on a variety of committees throughout his association with the game of hockey but he is most proud of his involvement in fostering the growth of the female game, including at the grassroots level. Bert was instrumental in establishing the current Manitoba Female U18 AAA League. Other notable committee assignments included serving on the host committees for two national events, the Esso Cup and the U18 Women’s National Championship, both of which were held in the city of Morden.
On behalf of the Hockey Manitoba Board of Directors, staff , and members, we would like to thank Bert for his contribution, commitment, and leadership to the sport locally, provincially, and at the national level. Congratulations to Bert as he strived to make the game and experience for all members positive, safe, and enjoyable throughout his twenty plus year association with the sport.
Our organization is grateful and would like to thank Bert for his leadership and love of the game along with his valued volunteer commitment to service with Hockey Manitoba.
