January 2013 Volunteer of the Month – Don Citulski (Yellowhead)
Don “Donnie” Citulski, a name synonymous with the Yellowhead Chiefs, is a long time serving volunteer for the Yellowhead AAA Midget Boys program. A resident of Shoal Lake, Don has been serving as the equipment manager for almost 20 of the Chiefs’ 28 years.
He is a very important part of the AAA Midget Chiefs. His countless hours of work do not go unnoticed. Don is a meticulous person who always takes great pride not only in the many tasks he does for the players and coaches but in the team itself. He is a true blue Yellowhead Chief. He sets out jerseys for both practices and games, fills countless water bottles, stocks the medical supplies, organizes the coaching aids and does this all before anyone arrives at the rink. He is always the last to leave.
The impact Donnie has had on 20 years of Chiefs players is remarkable. In talking to many alumni, the first question they ask is, “How is Donnie doing?” He has been and continues to be a great volunteer for this team and the Yellowhead Region.
Hockey Manitoba and the Yellowhead Region congratulate Don Citulski as the Hockey Manitoba January 2013 Volunteer of the Month presented by Awards & More.
