Registration now open for Girls Try Hockey Day: Sunday, October 2nd

Hockey Manitoba in conjunction with Hockey Canada and the IIHF, proudly presents the OneGoal "Try Hockey Day" Program. The program, celebrating World Girls Hockey Day on October 2nd, is designed to enhance participation while creating a positive hockey experience for young females in Manitoba.

Girls aged 4-8 are eligible to submit an online application below for a chance to participate and learn the basic fundamentals of the game while developing their skills in a fun, friendly and safe environment. Participants will be randomly selected and will receive the following free of charge courtesy of Hockey Manitoba and the OneGoal Foundation:

  • One hour on-ice with instructors
  • Hockey Manitoba jersey & stick
  • Equipment supplied by OneGoal (as needed by participant)
  • Post-ice snack and mini "Hot Stove" with special guest instructors

Hockey Manitoba is excited to announce that in addition to trained Hockey Manitoba instructors, a number of special guests will take part in this event including past or present members of:

  • Female U-18, U-22 & Women's National Team Canada
  • Female U-18 Team Manitoba
  • Manitoba Women's Junior Hockey League

Jocelyn Larocque (Ste.Anne, MB) – Current Member of Canadian Women's National Team along with Fiona Smith-Bell (Stonewall, MB) and Susannah Yuen (Winnipeg, MB) – Past Women's National Team members and World Champions, will be attending this event and signing autographs for all participants!

The event will take place at the MTS Iceplex from approx. 1:00 – 4:00 PM.

The deadline for applications is Monday September 26th and selected participants will be notified the following day.
