Special guest panel confirmed for Hockey Hot Stove on July 8th

Winnipeg – Hockey Manitoba is pleased to confirm the special guest panel for the Hockey Hot Stove taking place on Thursday, July 8th at Canad Inns Polo Park. Headlining the list of distinguished hockey dignitaries will be Andy Murray and Melody Davidson. Murray, a native of Souris, MB, is a 3-time World Champion coach for Team Canada and has coached 10 seasons in the NHL with the Los Angeles Kings and St.Louis Blues. Davidson is coming off a 2010 Olympic gold medal performance as she lead the Team Canada women to another championship. She has 3 Olympic gold medals beginning in 2002 as an assistant coach followed by two more in 2006 and 2010.

The Hockey Stove will run in conjunction with the Hockey Manitoba Coach Development Camp that is taking place July 6-10. During this time there will be various development sessions and clinics taking place for coaches of all hockey backgrounds. The Hot Stove is another great opportunity on the menu which is open to all coaches as well as the public and media. The attendees along with the special guest panel will partake in discussions geared to Athlete & Coach Development, along with a general question and answer period.

Joining Andy Murray and Melody Davidson on the panel will be Jari Ruottinen of the Finnish Ice Hockey Association, Corey McNabb of Hockey Canada, Dwayne Gylywoychuk of the Brandon Wheat Kings, and Bob Leslie of the Zurich Lions. Moderating the discussion will be Bob Caldwell, who is the Hockey Manitoba Master Coach Mentor and is also actively involved with Hockey Canada’s athlete and coach development initiatives. Guest host of the Hot Stove will be Andrew "Hustler" Paterson ofCJOB’s Hustler & Lawless Sports Show.
