The University of Winnipeg Women’s Hockey Team had an excellent start at the Esso Women’s Nationals in Sherwood Park, Alberta. The team defeated New Brunswick 4-2 yesterday. Britni Kehler was solid in net, and Chantal Larocque potted two goals for the team. This morning they faced Nova Scotia in their first of two games. The line of Melissa Jaques, Chantal Larocque and Carla MacMillan continued to dominate offensively. Jaques scored twice for the U of W, with Larocque adding three assists. The team sealed a 3-1 victory over Nova Scotia, and will face Saskatchewan later today.
